Menu Design

Project type

GDSN 224

This project involved a complete redesign of Storm Castle Cafes menu, beginning with evaluating their existing layout. The original design lacked typographic hierarchy, visual coherence, and failed to utilize a grid system. A central objective of the redesign was to reimagine the menu through grid use. Designing two distinct menu layouts was a creative challenge, pushing me to think beyond conventional structure. To differentiate the two versions, I experimented with typographic orientation, varied line work, and contrasting use of hierarchy. By manipulating whitespace, type scale, and alignment, each design achieves a unique tone while maintaining clarity. This project deepened my understanding of grid based layout systems and reinforced the importance of hierarchy and visual rhythm in print design.
